It started with a question most people never think to ask: What am I actually putting on my skin every single day?
I’m Sean, the founder of Maison Laundrin. And like most people, I never gave my laundry detergent a second thought. I’d grab whatever was on sale, toss it in the wash, and move on. But over time, something started bothering me. The synthetic fragrances that faded after a single wear. The harsh chemical smell that clung to my clothes in a way that felt more industrial than inviting. The ingredient labels I couldn’t pronounce, let alone understand.
I started researching what’s actually inside mainstream detergents—and what I found surprised me. Hormone-disrupting chemicals. Artificial fragrances engineered in labs, designed to smell “strong” rather than good. Ingredients that irritated sensitive skin and left residue on the very fabrics we press against our bodies all day long.
It didn’t sit right with me. We spend so much care choosing the right skincare, the right food, the right perfume—yet we hand our most intimate fabrics over to products that were never designed with that same level of intention.
The Turning Point
I became obsessed with the idea of a laundry detergent that actually lived up to what it should be: clean ingredients that were kind to your skin, and a scent so beautiful it could replace your perfume.
So I set out to build it myself. I partnered with master perfumers to develop sophisticated, fine-fragrance-quality scents—the kind you’d expect from a luxury perfume house, not a detergent aisle. I worked with formulators to create a plant-enzyme-powered formula with clean, non-toxic ingredients. No harsh synthetics. No hormone disruptors. No compromise.
The result was Maison Laundrin—a collection of luxury laundry detergents that transforms something you do every week into something you actually look forward to.
